Callisto catacombs. But don&#8217;t let that stop you from enjoying a scenic ride through one of Europe&#8217;s most stunning archaeological parks.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>ON WEDNESDAYS<\/strong>\u00a0the Catacombs of San Callisto are closed, as is the private road leading up to them. This means you&#8217;ll have to cycle for 1.5 km on the modern trafficked Via Appia before reaching the <em>traffic-limited<\/em> area of the Appian Way (from the Tomb of Metella onwards). On every other day, the private road is open from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">We strongly suggest reserving your bike <strong>in advance<\/strong> (at least the day before), especially between March and October.\u00a0 Helmets, locks and maps of the Regional Park of the Via Appia are included.
