APPIA ANTICA WAY ITINERARIES: Route A The Caffarella Valley and the Appian Way stretch between the Cecilia Metella Tomb and the Appia Antica Info Point.

Follow our itineraries on the Appia Antica Way and ride through the naturalistic and archaeological beauties of the Caffarella Valley and the first three miles of the Ancient Appian way. Starting from the treasures of the Caffarella Valley, crossed by the river Almone, you will arrive to the third mile of the Ancient Appian way where the majestic “Tomba di Cecilia Metella” and the monumental area of Emperor Massenzio (including “Circo”, “Villa” and “Mausoleo di Romolo”) stand.

APPIA ANTICA WAY ITINERARIES: Route B – The Ancient Appian Way stretch between the “Domine Quo Vadis?” Church and the Vth Mile Sepulchres.


This is one of the most stunning itineraries on the Appia Antica way, or Regina viarum, -as Roman citizens used to call it. Starting from the “Domine Quo vadis?” church to the Nymphaeum of  “Villa dei Quintili”, you will explore an incessant series of different tombs, among them the grand “Tomba di Cecilia Metella”.
